HOPE's Social Security Disability Advocacy Program provides a variety of assistance to disabled individuals who wish to apply for Social Security disability benefits. As part of our program, HOPE

Social Security Disability Advocacy Program

will provide assistance with all paperwork related to a client's application for disability benefits as well as provide supportive services, financial assistance, and case management to help ensure each client's self-sufficiency.

Funding Support

HOPE received a bequest form the Elizabeth B. Motley estate in August 2007 to support the Social Security Disability Advocacy Program. Through Mrs. Motley's foresight, generosity, and desire to help those living at or below poverty level, HOPE is able to offer this full-service, self-help advocacy program.

Services Provided

bulletSocial Security disability benefits application and process
bulletSupportive listening, moral support and problem-solving assistance with ALL issues (not just those related to the disability benefits application)
bulletScheduling and transportation assistance for disability-related appointments (including medical, dental, and vision care)
bulletSelf-help information and techniques
bulletFinancial assistance in the form of living expenses (housing, utilities, nutrition, personal care, and non-food household supplies), healthcare, and transportation
